DC Universe Online

I've spent the last couple of weeks playing this. I instantly took a liking to it because it combines two game types into one awesome hybrid. It has all the elements of an RPG such as levelling, gear, factions, rep grinding, but the gameplay of an action game. Instead of your point and click kinda games like city of heroes and WoW where you can move your cursor around on screen to select and target things, moving the mouse moves the camera and direction you're facing and the cursor only appears when you need it, like browsing a shop for example Left clicking attacks with your weapon and allows you to perform different combos by holding left click at different times or pressing right click at certain points and right clicking does a ranged attack (If you're using guns right clicking shoots). Of course you get an array of powers to use with 1-6 keys, 7 key for a healing item and 8 for your trinket (sadly that set up is locked in, meaning you can only have a max of 6 powers on the tray). But there's also a number of movement abilties, I dunno what the one's for super-speed and flying are but for acrobatics you get a grappling hook which gets you to the top of buildings faster, pulls you towards a building or even binds an enemy. If you're a fan of comics it'll be worth checking out, right now you can only explore Gotham city and metropolis (excluding alerts, which are the equivelant of instances in WoW), but they're huge and I'm sure with expansions there will be more places added, and it's fun to see familear places like crime alley when Bruce Waynes parents were killed.

Like WoW, DC has a number of instances, and they fall into four different categories:
Alerts: Four man instances where four players complete goals leading upto bosses and eventually and end-boss.
Raids: Eight man (I think) same as above, except with more people and alot more teamwork is involved.
Duo: Two man instances where two players fight along side each other to take down tougher versions of the single man instances which reward better loot and emblems which are used to buy iconic gear.
Single player:Just one player instances, mainly used to level but once you hit level 30 you unlock challenge mode where they become harder and reward better gear (but it's usually just One or two bosses).

I'm not too familear with the pvp, but it seems to be popular, like most mmo's there's a pvp server for world pvp, and team pvp. Team pvp is split into two types:
Arena: 2v2, 4v4, 8v8 standard pvp battle where you collect items or hold areas
Legends PVP: Player as a iconic character like Harley Quinn, Robin, the joker against a team of other people using iconic Characters. 2v2, 4v4, 8v8

They also use a system simlear to the WoW lfg system which automatically pairs you with other people for instances or PVP.
There's probably alot of stuff I've missed and you'll have to excuse any spelling or grammatical errors as I'm really tired right now, lol, I'll look over this post and correct anything when I get chance.

EDIT: Oh yeah and the powers, I wont go into too much detail here I'll just list them and the role they play.
Fire - Tanking
Ice - Tanking
Gadgets -Control
Mind - Control
Nature - Healing (beast boy powers!)
Magic - Healing
And every power can be used as dps.

How unfortunate that PSN is down for the last couple of weeks.

PlutoNick - Eve Online
Gavlas, Devon - WoW

Seppuku is the ancient art of killing yourself if you get super pissed and can't find anybody else to kill. Not to be confused with Bukakke

You weren't affected if you played on PC until recently, when it comes back up everyone gets 30 days of gametime free plus 1 day for every day the servers are down and a mask which i think is just cosmetic. Doesn't effect me much though because I have a lifetime sub, lol.
