CSI

For the first time, Monday nights are fun and hot as hell. I'm a big fan of the original CSI and lemme tell ya, it's spun off an equally intriguing, smart, and sexy sister series I'd watch for the rest of my natural life.

I've probably seen two episodes of NYPD Blue in my entire life, so coming into CSI, I had no preconceived notions about Caruso, but he stole the pilot show and proved himself such an intense and interesting character I can't help but wonder what's driving him from his past. I could watch his face forever and never get bored. He carries so much power and tough-guy confidence in a small intonation of his voice that his performance demands attention. Enough cannot be said about how wonderful it is to see him lead a show, for NYPD fans as much as fledgling Caruso fans like myself. I make appointments to watch the new episodes every week.

Caruso is the man, and he clearly brings prestige to this show, but viewers are lucky to get a great ensemble cast as well. Delaney is great and Procter is a fun counterpoint to Caruso's strong and serious character. Alexander is hip and smart and the cool supporting boys Rodriguez and Cochrane round out a wonderful cast that matches the amazing actors and actresses of the original CSI.

In just a few weeks of episodes, CSI: Miami has risen to top ratings, and with good reason: it's simply a flawless concept(of duplicating the dynamics and freshness of the original with some new twists and great characters) flawlessly executed by some TV makers that definitely deserve high honors for their endless creativity. I can't wait for these shows to get awarded the very best the industry has to offer.

Mondays are a bore no longer, and the simple prospect of watching my Miami gets me through the long day. It really is a special treat.
